John Deere Ad

Our Place looks like a John Deer ad these days... I've been a little lacking on the posts we've been knee deep in a really busy spring !

big deere did our discing and subsoiling

classic deere did our seeding

go anywhere deere did the tilling

and very handy deere hauled our compost!

and of course non of it would have worked with out my dear!

now that's a garden!! : ) be careful what you wish for!!!

We got our back field cleared of trees (which was no small task) diced, subsoiled and seeded with 4 acres of trefoil (lotus) - it's a legume like alfalfa : ) we are very excited now just waiting for some rain!!!

the newly planted back field!

Brian also got he garden plot are finished up tilled and the compost pile added in!! I did a lot of the compost digging so don't let this photo fool you into thinking brian does all the work around here .. : ) we got the garden all planted (ok there's always more to do) but mostly in and growing now!! yippie!! thanks soo much to our good friends at Gales Meadow for all the starts!!!

and as if we needed more fowl we got 75 more baby chicks!! so this puts us up to about 200 (total) laying birds and about 60 meat birds on the farm right now!! yikes that's too many we will be culling about 85 layers in a couple months so let me know if you think you may want some hens for your fall/winter soups and slow cookers!

I had to do another shot of poor clemintine! she's just so damn cute and long suffering! : )

here's my crazy garden list of what's IN so far!! in case you want to come to my house for dinner this july! : )

O dear, that looks like a lot of work. Congratulations on finishing. That was no small task. So it seems you must have done this new post as an adendum to the last as there is no place to comment?

Love,
M

Nothing runs like a deere! I love the deere dealership in fact I think you should send it in to John Deere promo stories on their site. Can't wait to see all the work you all have done.
