hunkering down and being still

As the shadows get longer and the days shorter we head quickly to the longest night... - The mist was heavy of the farm yesterday which happily means the week or so of very cold 'hose freezing' weather is breaking for a while at least. We sit by the fire with the dogs a lot these days it's really nice to rest. To celebrate the light we cut two trees and filled them with lights to make up for the lack of it in the sky... One for the front of the house and one for the inside : ) when trees are plentiful you can be decedent with them ! Happy Solstice week - May you find a peaceful slowness...

I love your indoor tree!!! It is so cool. All splayed out and lit up! How do you like OR vs. CA? I'm origninally from Bend, OR, and moved to Sacramento, CA 20 years ago. I'm itching to get back... and super jealous that you've made the move. I feel Californian enough to ask you, "What do you think??" and Oregonian enought to say, "Isn't it awesome here?" But... Californian enough to know not EVERYONE is into the TRUE Oregonian lifestyle. Many CA's dream of it, I know, BUT the lifestyle can be very different than expected. So - What do you think? Good for you - I'm loving, by the way, that your living your dream! Wherever that may take you, kudos to you for gettin' out there.
