ronnie and his mom
Today was Ronnie's last day - it was fast and peaceful - beautiful in
it's own way he was resting under the pear tree chewing his breakfast
there was a soft breeze and he barely looked up to see who was visiting
him. - Thank you Ronnie for your beautiful self given to sustain us. I'm
grateful for your life that you have brought to our farm. I raise my
glass to our first calf in all the joy of the first big table farm birth
and the last peaceful breath under a tree about 30 feet from where he
was born.

Oh Clare - I LOVED that photo immediately the first time I saw it, and I still do! Please do paint it one day? It's how I've always pictured "Ferdinand" the bull, and that's my "love" nickname for my peaceful Charlie man. I'm so grateful to hear that it was peaceful for Ronnie and that he was so close to the place where he was born. Thank you Ronnie for all that you gave Big Table and all those who visited you! With Love, Bee
Beautifully said, my dear. Cheers, Ronnie!
I just came across your blog and LOVE it. Such beautiful photos. Sorry about your calf - I feel the same way when we "harvest" our animals. Sad and grateful. Looking forward to visiting often. :)
My heart was heavy when I read this post. I wish I lived nearby. I'd love to visit someday. I'm across the country.
